Hmm, so they considered Paul Newman for the lead. I wonder if you would've liked it better if they had picked Newman.
Perhaps for sentimental reasons, but I don't think it would have had much effect on my final verdict; while I didn't care for the movie I thought Gene Hackman was very good.
