Edit Button Behavior

As a result of the new optimizations, the "Edit" button you see when viewing one of your own lists has changed. Used to be that button only appeared on your own lists, but now it appears on all lists. If you click it for a list you don't own, you'll get a message telling you you can't do that. When I was rendering the page on the fly I could display that button selectively, but now that the page is pre-rendered upon saving the list, I can't do that anymore. The edit button may appear sporadically until the change has a chance to percolate through all the cached content.

What's our ISP saying? Are the changes sufficient?
They haven't said, and I haven't asked. On the one hand I'd like to know. On the other hand, I'd like to put off them saying "not good enough" as long as possible. :-)
How often do the "recent activity" and "recent posts" and "favorites" and pages refresh?
Those are all up-to-the-minute.
I'm assuming you meant, "If you click [the Edit button] for a list you don't own, you'll get a message telling you you can't do that."
Oops, yes, thanks, fixed.
And now, there is no Edit button for lists I do own.
See my note on "sporadic". :-) The next time you save one of your lists, or the next time someone comments on one of your lists, the edit button should appear (and stay).
I'd repopulate the cache, but that is a processor-intensive task, and since my webhost is monitoring the load to see if my optimizations did enough, I can't really do that now.
I understand, but how can I "save one of my lists" without access to the Edit button? Or should I place a blank comment on a list when I want to edit it?
Just click on "My Content" above and click on any of the "edit" links.
oh. pretend I never asked
:-) Asked what?
