You may have seen it mentioned elsewhere but Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog is a real hoot. Directed by Joss Whedon and starring Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Fillion, I've been enjoying the writing, the humor, the music and the all around inventiveness. Act I and Act II have already been released and Act III is scheduled for July 19th. Hurry now and catch up!

This made my year.
That was great. I totally didn't see that ending coming. I was depressed by it at first, but it seemed to fit once I gave it a bit of thought: Penny needed to die, as she was all that kept Dr. Horrible from becoming truly evil - he couldn't be a real supervillain while attached to such a kindhearted person, and besides this, Dr. Horrible's new-found emotional coldness as a result (implied at the end: "I feel nothing") would only add to his later evil. This made the story seem more like a "making of a supervillain" tale (almost a "how the evil one became evil"-type thing), which is fantastic - I don't think this has really been done before - at least not like this. Although I laughed my ass off when "Bad Horse" turned out to be an actual horse. I mean, how would he write those letters? Awesome.
I'm impressed that a free internet video managed to be so innovative and inventive, but then again, it is Joss Whedon. Watch it while you can, it's getting pulled on Sunday, and you'll have to pay to see it after that.
Yes, this is one of the best things I've ever seen. Can't wait for Act III!
