Don Cheadle
As if I didn't admire Don Cheadle enough for his work, I had to go and read this excellent piece. It includes some great quotes, including:
That shit kills me. 'Oh, he's the heart of the film!' Like, I don't want to do it. I don't need to be the heart of the film. I want to be the balls of the film.
The reporter also breaks out a great Denzel Washington anecdote that apparently Cheadle had never heard:
... people made a stink about it [Devil in a Blue Dress getting no Oscar attention] - Denzel Washington in particular. He was so angry that Cheadle had not received a best supporting actor nomination at the 1996 Oscars that he refused point-blank to take part in the presentation ceremony.
In an interview in September 1996, Washington stated: "I thought personally that there weren't that many performances (by black actors) that deserved to be nominated, but I thought one that did was Don Cheadle. Maybe I'm prejudiced because I was in the film, but at the same time I was asked to be part of the Oscars this year, and I turned it down because I didn't want to be some sort of a token face there. If I'm going to the dinner, I'm going to eat, I'm not going to be serving the tables."
Having the quote read out to him, Cheadle pauses awkwardly.
"He didn't take part in the ceremony because of that?" he asks.
No. He was categorical. Why? Hadn't he heard that before?
"Never," Cheadle says.
Holy crap.
By all means, read the whole thing. It's great. « via Movie City News »

Yup, but there weren't as many comments last time I checked. Thanks!
Damned registration requirin' bastards! I guess I'll be satisfied with your snippets.
You could try this BugMeNot account. There's also a kickin' Firefox extension.
Firefox rules. But over dialup, it tried 'receiving the latest bugmenot server file' all night long and couldn't. But the BugMeNot account worked. That's really cool, I'll have to use that more often! Anyway, that article is really great, thanks.
