Jim, it's been my experience that most people, even many intelligent and educated people, don't know shit about astronomy. A website that points out the difference between good and bad astronomy is well worth its bits of cyberspace. I've just been enjoying reading about the bad astronomy in one of my guiltiest movie pleasures, ARMAGEDDON. Oy! the guilt.
Yeah, the Armaggeddon writeup was marvelous. After reading that and the Deep Impact writeup, I was disappointed in myself for rolling over so easily when we discussed those. Ah well. That'll teach me to not trade in my convictions so easily.
