Alternate Listology Stylesheets

Tags:

Enemies of my taste in yellow rejoice! You can now switch stylesheets in Listology. Well, some of you can. You have to use a real browser for it to work. At the moment that means Firefox, but it's supposed to work for Opera as well. I say "supposed to" because it doesn't, at least not for me. I can switch the stylesheet, but it doesn't persist from page to page (i.e. it keeps reverting to the default stylesheet). And, as is the case with so many things, IE users are left completely out in the cold. While I know you are legion, I just can't bring myself to code an IE-specific solution.

Anyway, there are two alternate stylesheets for now. "Pale" replaces my garish dark yellow with stooky's preference. "Flattened Discussion" maintains the garish colors, but flattens the discussion greatly so if it's deeply nested it won't run off the right side of the screen so much. I imagine the latter stylesheet will only be used on a page-by-page basis, but do with it what you will. Should be handy for those of you intent on banging your heads against walls (he says, carefully making no comment as to who is the head, and who is the wall :-).

Firefox is indeed a great browser and allows me to let IE gather dust. Thankyou. Pale yellow looks terrible, woopsy, you'd think an artist would have better taste. Vava bright yellow with a hint of orange. :?)

Coolest thing about listology, the people who use the website can actually influence the way it looks. It's like a spurned ego-maniac's wet dream. :?)

T'ho

:?)

That's teach you for throwing off-hand color suggestions at me!

:-)

Hey! I'm likin' the pale today, it's soothing, like the beach. I'm a changeable sorta guy. :?)

btw I could put a colored header (ie. h1) in a "post" (not to be confused with a created list) yesterday (you're probably asking why you put up with me right now) any reason?

T'ho

:?)

BTW, when using Pale in Firefox, the 'go' and '?' buttons in the search box are still yellow (which, perhaps you're working on, but it sounded like it was 'fixed' due to your post earlier about trasnparency and all). Please correct me.

Perhaps you need to do a SHIFT+Refresh to clear the old images out of your cache?

Oooh, pretty!

I use Firefox now, but... how do I switch stylesheets?

Oh, nevermind, found it.

I feel like I'm the head AND the wall.

I hope I didn't contribute to that feeling. I am thrilled you are on the site, and I greatly enjoy your contributions!

Shalom, y'all!

L. Bangs

I second that emotion. Especially since being both the head and the wall sounds particularly painful. Like some kind of quantum particle/wave duality, but with more bruising.

You're very kind. Thank you.

RosieCotton, perhaps you should ignore my recent post to the religious discussion and just let it die. I never intended this debate to come across as any sort of personal attack, and it's obviously an emotional issue for you. I don't want my personal rejection of Christianity to seem like a universal proposal that Christianity sucks or something. I'm just one guy, one stubborn Jew.

I apologize for any harsh words or hurt feelings. Maybe I should adopt lbangs's policy of limiting discussion to art around here.

hahaha.

Pale is indeed an improvement. :)

Me likee blue.

Which blue? I probably have one or two more alternate stylesheets in me before I get bored and move on to the next feature. :-)

I dunno, perhaps sky and a softened royal, I dunno.

All for you. :-)
