I thought some on Listology might find this interesting...

---- END ANNOUNCEMENT
If you've never been to such an event in your life I highly recommend you try it at least once! This year's attendance by Kevin McCarthy is a pretty big deal considering the dude is 89 years old! They are also going to be screening Beyond Re-Animator (2003) although it's not listed in the current announcement. Also I think they're going to add at least one more feature (maybe more). Currently still a possibility are Bubba Ho-tep (2002), 28 Days Later (2002), Cypher (2002), Hypercube: Cube 2 (2002), Mimic: Sentinel (2003) and Trinity (2001). Also playing will be Gravity (1976), an episode of the Adventures of Captain Marvel (1941), Duck Dodgers in the 24½th Century (1953) and an episode of "Tom Corbett, Space Cadet" (1950). If I had to choose one of the definites that I'm most interested in it would probably be Equilibrium. I'm starting to hear really good things about this movie. Check out this Gunkatta web site!

Very cool. I'd love to see the Cowboy Bebop movie and the Animatix shorts. I enjoyed The Chubbchubbs.
Of the possibilities, I have to see Bubba Ho-tep having just read Bruce Campbell's book. I can't believe they made a sequel to Cube, but I don't think I'll be seeking that one out. Finally, you've gotten me psyched for Equilibrium. It's got a very good rating on IMDb, and the DVD comes out next month! Oh, and the whole Gunkata concept is a hoot. :-)
Good news!! The Animatrix (2003) is being released on DVD, June 3rd, 2003.
That is good news! I'm definitely going to have to check those out. I've been looking for episodic DVD collections to watch while exercising. It's the only thing that makes it palatable.
David Poland has a very positive column about why The Animatrix should be released theatrically to make it elegible for the Best Animated Feature Oscar. He thinks it would probably win. That really makes me want to see it!
