C+ or higher = all movies I liked to some degree and would probably recommend
C = average
C- or lower = all movies I disliked to some degree and would probably not recommend

Good lord, you actually paid money to see "Master of Disguise"???

I suggest you get a refund immediately!

I know, I know. Well, I really like Dana Carvey, and even though his films aren't that great, I usually enjoy them. I knew "Master of Disguise" would be bad, but I didn't know it would be THAT bad.

AJ, I must say I really loved Signs as well.

Jeez, this list is hard to maintain. My opinions keep changing, perhaps just because I've forgotten what each movie was actually like. Well, currently, "Signs" has dropped to my #3 movie and "Chicago" is #1. But "The Good Girl" is probably too low, and I don't really remember "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" as well as some of these later movies, nor "Signs", nor "Minority Report." I'm also not too confident about my placement of "Catch Me If You Can" (which has recently dropped a few slots), but strangely enough, I can't decide whether it should be higher or lower.

Also, I just remembered that I left a movie off this list: "Bad Company." Which sucked. In fact, it would be in last place if not for Anthony Hopkins's acting ability and Chris Rock's charisma. Not that they helped the movie much.

You may be wondering which of these movies I recommend. I'd say that I would recommend all the movies up through "The Bourne Identity", and I would un-recommend (what's the opposite of recommend?) all movies from "Analyze That" to the end. "Die Another Day" to "Spider-Man" is kind of a gray area.

Well, bah. You get what I mean. Just don't flame me saying, "How the #$*@ could you like 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' better than 'Far From Heaven', you %*?!ing mother%$^&er?" Both were very good movies, and my opinions are subject to change.

Believe me, "The Good Girl" is not too low. In fact, that rancid piece of sh!+ should be lower. But then, that's just where I stand...

The above comment refers to the very first incarnation of this list, when it was just a list of all the 2002 films I had seen in order, no tiers.

As for "The Good Girl", I'm the only person on this site who liked it, to my knowledge. Sometimes I wonder if I saw the same movie as everyone else. I thought Jennifer Aniston was amazing and the dark comedy was often very funny.

Your not the only one, I thought that it was very good as well. I thought both Jennifer Aniston and Jake Gyllenhaal did great jobs. I am not sure why more people here don't think much of it.

THANK you! It baffles me too.

Well, you guys might be in the minority here in this small pond, but not in the larger sea: 80% on Rotten Tomatoes (although I'm as baffled by that reception as you are by the general Listology concensus :-).

C'mon, how could you not laugh when Jennifer Aniston says to the Bible study guy, "I kind of like my nights to myself", and he says, "Well, maybe you'll have night after night of eternal hellfire all to yourself! Ha ha ha, just kidding you."

One funny moment is easy. Heck, I can probably come up with one from What About Bob? (okay, probably not :-). Can you give me five funny moments? That is, assuming you want to take the tack that it's a comedy...

Well, dark-comedy-slash-dark-drama, if I'm allowed to take multiple tacks.

Let's see, five funny moments. I remember laughing at the stuff done by that really bitter girl who worked at the store. And when John C. Reilly assumed that the Bible study guy was the person sleeping with Jennifer Aniston. Hmm, that's all I can think of at the moment, but it has been a couple years.

By the way, I hope you didn't count any of what I said as a recommendation of "What About Bob?", as it came with a weighty disclaimer. I imagine if I rewatched it today, I would probably find it as dull as you did. Though I guess anything's possible.

Not at all - What About Bob? ended up on my "to see" list via non-Listology sources.

Is there a reason why you left off The Two Towers?

Well, I didn't really care for Fellowship, so...

While I may see that film and/or Return of the King at some point, I don't think it's all that unfortunate that I haven't seen it. So it's off.
