Author Comments:

Well, here we go again, listing crappy comedies and kiddie films to give me painful memories. Why did I watch all these bad films? Sigh. Well, some of the slightly more aged Listologists have told me they were impressed with my knowledge of the classics at my age. If anything good comes of these lists, maybe they'll realize I didn't always have good taste in movies. Not that my current taste in movies is great, but at least I wouldn't watch Problem Child 3 today.

C+ or higher = all movies I liked to some degree and would probably recommend
C = average
C- or lower = all movies I disliked to some degree and would probably not recommend

Cloned From:

I strongly recommend Kusturica's Underground (as placed in your "should see" section). I'm pretty sure you'd dig it (pun not intended but I wish I had!). If you can imagine Fellini crossed with Gilliam crossed with Klimov you could get a grasp of the kind of experience you'd be in for.

Heh, I just saw this movie. What a crazy movie. Reminds me of Fellini mixed with Zulawski. He is such a bold film maker. Not your typical downbeat poverty stricken Eastern European type.

Nope, definitely not "downbeat" but thoroughly devastating--just an extremely courageous film that flaunts a tremendous variety of emotions, not to mention being such a darkly satirical, jet black comedy which in its case just adds to the power and overwhelm of it all.

Thanks for the Zulawski (indirect) recommendation. I checked out Possession and was completely stunned. Didn't expect such a masterpiece to just drop in my lap like that!
